After your hiking adventure That ends in Marrakech, our Driver will pick you up on the 5th day to start the desert experience, crossing several highlights of the south of Morocco such as Ait Ben Haddou UNESCO sight, the Valley of Roses, Dades Valley, the Gorges of Todgha and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy the camel ring experience and spend a night in a luxury camp in the Middle of the Sahara.

Enjoy the beautiful landscape of Jbel Saghro and the famous Draa Valley on your way back to Marrakech.

TOUBKAL TREKKING AND SAHARA DESERT TRIP ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival 

Welcome to Morocco by our driver at Marrakech airport. Drive to your Hotel/Riad 

  • Duration: 20 minutes

  • Optional activities: 3 hours guided tour in the Medina, Camel riding, Quad biking.

Day 2: Marrakech to Imlil Valley – Azib Tamsoult ( Azzaden Valley) 

In the early morning, we transfer you from Marrakech to Imlil at 5,800ft Where we meet our Mules/muleteers team. We will start a 6-hour hike in Imlil Valley and into the Azzadene Valley, on the way you will pass Tizi N’Mzik 8,805 feet alt to the refuge at Azib N’Tamsoult, and the Ighouliden waterfalls. We’ll stay overnight in Azib n Tamsoult mountain refuge at 9,800 ft.

Day 3: Hike from Azib N Tamsoult  to Tizi n Aguelzim- Hike to Toubkal refuge (10521 feet) 

The day begins with a stiff climb hiking out of the Azzaden Valley to the Toubkal Refuge over the Aguelzim Mountain pass at 11,679 feet. We will have lunch at a spectacular viewpoint over the Atlas Mountain range. We will overnight in the Toubkal Refuge where you’ll likely be sharing a bunk room with other trekkers tackling Toubkal early the next morning.

Day 4: Toubkal Refuge –Toubkal Summit- Imil Valley – Marrakech 

We wake up early for the climb to the Toubkal peak at 13,000ft. If the Clouds allow, there will be wonderful views of the Atlas range and the Sahara Desert, It is truly awesome. We go back down the way we came to the refuge. Follow the well-worn path to Chamharouch, on the way we will stop to enjoy a peaceful lunch prepared by our team. Later on, we continue to Imlil where we meet our Drive and drive back to Marrakech. 

You will normally be dropped off at around 5 pm in Marrakech.

Day 5:  Travel from Marrakech to  Ait Ben Haddou – Stop to explore Dades Valley 

Start you Sahara desert trip in Morocco. Our guides will pick you up from your Riad in Marrakech and begin our desert tour to the Dades valley across the Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass (2260m.) From the pass, you’ll have incredible views across the High Atlas Mountains dotted with Berber villages. We continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou and explore the site with your guide. Afterward, we eat lunch close by before continuing on the road of a thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the first spend night.

Day 6:  Drive from Dades Valley to  Todra Gorges – travel to Merzouga (Night in the Desert) 

Travel to Erg Chebbi Sahara desert at Merzouga. Admire Berber villages,  scattered along the way as we visit the famous Todra Gorge, where we will stop for an hour to walk in these beautiful Moroccan canyons. Continue passing the villages of Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud to reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We take a break for tea before riding camels to the sand dunes to watch the sunset. Overnight in a luxury camp 

Enjoy the Sahara starry night and music performance by the fire.

Day 7: Merzouga  to Draa Valley- Atlas Mountains – Marrakech 

We wake early to watch the sunrise in the dunes, have breakfast, and then make our way back to Marrakech, we return on a slightly different path with the dry landscape of Saghro mountains, passing through Alnif, Tazarine, N’kob, and through the beautiful Valley of Draa, the main trading road of the old camel caravans, and lunch in Ouarzazate. Back to Marrakech via the Route of the Tizi-n- Tichka Pass, we arrive in Marrakech in the early evening.

8th day: Departure
